　クリスマス・キャロルはシンプルで美しいメロディーと和声の宝庫です。長い間人々に歌い継がれてきたトラディショナル・キャロルにも，比較的新しい時代に作曲されたキャロルにも一度聴いたら忘れられない魅力をもつものが少なくありません。ただ惜しいことに，日本で一般によく知られているキャロルは限られています。もちろん，「きよしこの夜」，「もろびとこぞりて」，「神の御子は今宵しも」などはすばらしいキャロルですが，すばらしいキャロルはこれだけではありません。
　超有名なキャロルに比べると聴く機会が少ないけれども，捨てがたい魅力のあるキャロルも聴いていただければと思ってこのコーナーをつくりました。有名でわざわざ私が作るまでもないんですが，やっぱり聴いてほしいというキャロルやソングも入っています。拙いMIDIですが気に入っていただける曲があれば幸いです。英国オリジナルのキャロルにとくにスポットをあてた同詞異曲のクリスマス・キャロルのページもあわせてごらんください。
